Getting started with Reverie Movies

Reverie is built to explain itself as you go: hover over anything you're unsure of, or ask Kubrick. Here's the whole journey in five steps, and where to find more.

From idea to finished film

  1. 1

    Start a film

Create a project from Projects, or open Kubrick (the launcher, or ⌘K) and describe your idea: he can develop it into concepts, a story and a storyboard with you, free.

  2. 2

    Plan scenes, shots and characters

A film is scenes made of shots. Give your characters portraits so they look the same in every shot, and give a shot an image to start from if you want a particular look.

  3. 3

    Generate the shots

Render each shot. Reverie picks a model for its quality tier, or you can choose one. A continuation starts on the last frame of the shot before, so the action carries on. Every render shows its cost before anything is spent.

  4. 4

    Edit on the timeline

Trim and reorder shots, add transitions and music, lip-sync singing to your track, and add voice-over or sound effects.

  5. 5

    Export

Export the finished film as one video when you’re happy with it.

Credits

Planning and editing are free. Rendering shots, making images, enhancements and exporting use credits, and each shows its cost before it starts. New accounts start with free credits; buy more under Settings → Credits & Billing. Credits never expire.
